• Clear
• Accurate
• Natural
• Approved by the Church

Some translators use another word: TUAA, which means:

• Trustworthy
• Understandable
• Appealing
• Appropriate

Both CANA and TUAA show the four basic qualities of a good translation. Each one is important. This lesson will help people learn what makes a translation good or not good. These qualities help people trust the translation. Before starting translation work, the team must agree on these important ideas. Teams can also choose their own words to remember these ideas while they work.
