<aside> 💡 Yes, a translation team from your church can translate the Bible into your language! However, resources are necessary to support the team in translation. translationQuestions (tQ) is a key resource to allow the translation team to check their understanding of content in a passage of Scripture. Read more to understand the purpose of tQ.

Purpose

The translationQuestions (tQ) are based on the text of the ULT, but they can be used to check any Bible translation. They ask questions about the content of the Bible. This content should not change as it is translated into different languages. Along with each question, tQ provides a suggested answer for that question. You can use these sets of questions and answers as a way to check the accuracy of your translation, and you can also use them with members of the language community. source: translationAcademy

How to Use for Translation

Preparing to draft a passage of Scripture: Translators must study and prepare to draft a passage into their language. Look here ‣ for information on preparing. One of the resources to help increase their understanding of the passage is tQ. The team will answer all questions that connect to the passage they want to translate.

Checking a translation: Translators will externally check their drafts with the language community to determine if the translation is clear and natural. tQ can be asked after the community has heard a passage to check their understanding. Look here Language Community Checking for information on language community checking.
